SQL Database Administrator III Job Description:
Our client in Bend, OR is looking for a SQL Database Administrator III. This position is Direct Placement. Salary is dependent on skills and experience.
The Database Administrator III will be responsible for the design, architecture, availability, reliability, performance, monitoring, and security of enterprise SQL Server database environment. The Database Administrator III will also be responsible for the design, architecture, availability, reliability, performance, and monitoring of broad array of current and future proprietary scientific and/or engineering database systems.
Responsibilities:
-Understand business requirements and apply appropriate technology tools to solve business problems
-Demonstrated ability to ensure ongoing satisfaction with information technology tools and applications as applicable to their functional areas of responsibility
-Design and maintain database strategies to support applications and systems that use relational databases to store, display, and manipulate data and information
-Work with various scientific and engineering business staff to develop innovative methods to capturing, storing, and disseminating critical data and information in an efficient and effective manner
-Define and carry out routine maintenance tasks for designated information systems
-Develop stored procedures to perform routine tasks
-Configure and document database security and user/client access for designated information systems
-Coordinate resources to determine the source of a problem in the SQL Server or database
-Maintain policies related to the relational database including information integrity and recovery of data
-Provide project and systems status reports to IT Operations Manager
-Update and maintain SQL Server Reporting Services reports, processes, and workflow diagrams
-Design, document, and verify disaster recovery scenarios for designated
-Test and verify backup processes for designated database environments
-Obtain a functional understanding of data and information flow within the enterprise as it relates to SQL Server and associated applications
Knowledge of:
-Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
-Advanced knowledge of Client-server concepts
-Advanced knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, etc.)
-Advanced knowledge of hardware setup and configuration
-Knowledge of project management concepts
-Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008
-Advanced knowledge of T-SQL
-SQL Server Reporting Services
-SQL Server Analysis Services
-Microsoft Dynamics CRM
-Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server 2007
-Experience with basic project management methodology
